The UPDF have in many cases, failed to protect the IDP camps from attacks by the LRA and have themselves committed many human rights violations. Soldiers have demanded sex in exchange for food, shelter and protection. Most children have grown up within these refugee camps in which poverty and war is the only way of life they know.
